Projects Elliot Colliery, New Tredegar

Once home to nearly 3000 employees in a bustling mining community, Elliot Colliery was a true powerhouse of the Welsh economy during the coal mining era.

As part of the local authority’s continuing drive to retain this heritage a new visitor centre for Elliot Colliery was required.

Dawson Stone Masonry Ltd were appointed as masonry contractor to supply and install Welsh Pennant sandstone walling and Cumbrian slate rainscreen to the front elevation of the centre, another example of the fine integration of classic masonry and modern architecture.
